O Baby!

Here are my favorite pictures you get on an ultrasound.
I just love their tiny little feet!
Here is the best body pic we have...
not good, but you get the picture. :)
 Sweet little hand...
Our first ever opportunity to see a 3D ultrasound and this was as good as it got. It's kind of a side profile if you can make it out. That blob would be my placenta...on the front of my uterus of all places. Never had that before!

Thank you for all your prayers! We had a tech that spent 10 years as a high risk ultrasound tech, so she has seen a lot in her years, and gave us a thumbs up on this little one. Hopefully the radiologist agrees. :)

It's always so exciting to see the excitement in the children's eyes when they see the baby on the screen. We've always taken them to see each new addition in hopes of it creating even more of an eagerness to meet their new brother or sister. It gives them a sense of reality that they wouldn't have otherwise. They were all smiling ear to ear, and oohing and aahing as the tech told them what each feature was. Even little Shelby kept saying, "baby?" and pointing to the screen. So cute!! The kids were so good too. Thank you, Lord! They all sat quietly with their books and waited patiently for the 45minutes it took for them to bring them back to the room (they always have to wait for the "tour" to be done before they allow little ones to come in).

Now the true test will be to see if the hubby can keep the gender a secret! It's driving me a bit batty not knowing and knowing he does. lol I told him he has about 142 days to keep it up...can he do it? Please, Lord...I hope so. Anyways, it is always exciting to see a miracle growing and know that the Lord has had this planned all along. He blesses us more than we deserve. I pray that we will do the job he has for us and do it well. By His strength alone this can be accomplished...may that be our continual prayer for our children, family, and lives.

Tomorrow's the Day!

Well, tomorrow is the day...the day that we get to see our little baby on the ultrasound monitor! It seems like it has taken forever to get to this point in my pregnancy. I'm half way to the end! What a crazy one this has been so far. I was super sick until week 15 (which never happens to me), I'm huge compared to normal, my sinuses have been on a rampage, I have no lung capacity...as in I am short of breath just walking the stairs (I haven't ever had breathing issues & this started at 8weeks! I feel like I have Emphysema), my ears are at a heightened sensitivity level (which is not the best problem with a house full of children), and I could cry at anything. Literally, cry at anything! For example, Gabe was at his T-Ball game and caught a ball, threw it to a little girl and it pegged her in the arm. I see his head drop (because he feels bad he hit her with the ball) and she drops to the ground crying. As the kids exit the field, I ask Gabe, "Did you ask if she was alright, and tell her you were sorry?" He is pouting and trying not to cry and shakes his head "No" and I explain that he needs to at least see if she is o.k. even though it was an accident, you need to show you care. He starts crying and is so embarrassed (that is Gabe's full nature) and then I feel horrible that he feels badly and I start to cry and then we are both blubbering like little babies! Really!? What is wrong with me??? :)  I'm not trying to whine, I'm just baffled at how different every pregnancy can be! Crazy!

Anyways, I would like to ask you to pray for me again. I always get a little stressed and nervous before going in. You never know what you're going to see on that monitor. Pray that the baby would be healthy and growing as "it" should be. That everything is where it's supposed to be (i.e. placenta and umbilical cord placement). Bob will be finding out the gender and I am not. So, we shall see how that goes for the next 5 months! He's crazy...I don't know how on earth he is going to keep it from me for that long. I just hope he can, so I can be surprised at delivery!

Thank you all for your encouraging emails and prayers! It's such a wonderful thing that we have Christ as our go to guy!

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

p.s. I'll post pics as soon as I can! I was locked out of my blog for the last few days...don't know why, but thankfully this morning I was able to log in. :)

Sunday Fun!

Sundays are usually very low key here. We go to church, then the delicious Mexican Bakery, come home to relax, and maybe play a game of baseball in the backyard when the weather's nice. Today Bob decided to see how many kids could have a horsey ride...I'm not sure he meant at one time (or did he?), but that is how the kids took it! :) Looks like he's going to need to grow an extra foot in height to fit them all come fall!

 And
the
fun
begins
with
children!

 Can
they
stay
on
for
the
8
seconds?

Will
Dad
survive
the
challenge?

Yes,
yes
they
and
he
did!

  Now
it's
Ty's
turn
to
prove
his
strength!

Can
they
all
fit?

No,
no
they
can't!

How did you spend your Sunday?

Decisions...

Today I decided to switch up my Dr. and go to the true and tested Midwife. I have struggled with this decision since we found out we were expecting. Some say, "Dr." some say, "Midwife" and I feel like I've gotten stuck between. I have used a Midwife with the last 4 babies, had wonderful results, and the 1st one I used a Family Practitioner (so still technically not a true OB doc). My 1st appointment with my Dr. was extremely stressful and although he seemed very nice and informed, I still almost 10weeks later was still trying to decide if I should go back to him. Which isn't a good sign to me.

Here's a little history as to why all of the sudden I am having difficulty deciding:
Bob and I after we moved last year put this movie into our list on Netflix The Business of Being Born. My SIL recommended we watch it. I really don't recommend watching it with your husband or kids. There are way too many women birthing in the nude for my taste and eyes. We fast forwarded through almost all the deliveries because of this. It is very eye opening and educational as to how hospitals and doctors sometime work. I would recommend it as well, just make sure you have your remote handy to skip through all the immodest parts. This has really struck home as to decisions we make. The people we put in charge of our lives. It's food for thought!

At Bible study on Wed. I met a new lady that seemed very informed about Dr.'s and Midwives alike in this area. I explained my issue and she offered up the suggestion of a great Midwife. I found out this morning that it is the same Midwife that one of my friends here used for her last pregnancy/delivery. I called to see if I could get in with this particular Midwife, which I was able to. If my phone conversation has any indication as to how things will go at this office, I will be thrilled. The receptionist was extremely helpful, kind, and very informative.

Anyways, I would just like to ask that you would pray for us. That this is what God's will would be for us. Birth and babies is serious business. That I/we would have a peace about this decision and that this pregnancy would go smoothly and both baby and I would be healthy throughout it.

Boys

Welcome to the world of boys! If you don't have one, you really need to get yourself one. Your life will never be dull or boring.

They will give you a reason to color your hair.
They turn the most skiddish mother into an insect, reptile, amphibian loving lady.
They always know how to make their mom smile.
They are always thinking of something to destory build.
They make you proud with their accomplishments...yet cringe at some choices.
They will always try to be one step ahead of you.
They keep you young at heart.
They can turn any area in the home into a sports facility or any household object into a sporting tool...whether it be your hallway, couch, bed, bathtub, spoon, foil, plastic cups, bowls, etc...
They are honest with their opinions, whether or not we like it, it's always honest.
They're the muscle you need when your hubby is at work, even if they are only 8.
They are sensitive and tough all wrapped up into one little body.
They will always laugh when someone makes a not so attractive noise.
They will allow you the privilege of using your medical insurance to the fullest.
They can turn a bad situation, where they should be severely punished, into one that you know you shouldn't laugh at, but how can you not when all you're thinking is "how did they do that?"

Now doesn't that make you want one of these precious little boys?! :) Here is one example of a boys mind:

The boys were told they couldn't have a bat to play baseball in the backyard. So they decided a plunger they found in the garage would make the best substitute for a bat. :)

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! ~Heather

"This is the Stuff"

My husband a few months ago when this song first came out, came in the front door from work and said, "Honey, I heard your song on the radio today!" He then proceeded to look it up and play it for me. Ummm, yeah. Can you tell he knows me well? :)

Maybe some of you can relate to this...I pray you can't, but the reality of it is that most of us can. It's not the ideal reality, but just the same, it is what it is. Praise God for his willingness to bring us around to where we need to be, no matter how much we try to ignore. He always gets our attention somehow and is always in a forgiving mood. I just pray that we all will listen when He calls and not be so wrapped up in all the things that "have been getting to you lately."

*I'm skipping today's "Weekday Wear."  Things have just been getting to me lately (hence the song) and I have lots to do. Hope you can get a laugh at this (or if you're like me this morning, it'll make you cry) and it makes you realize how blessed we all really are!
