Britt Nicole - Hanging On

*Scroll down and pause the music at the bottom before playing! :)

  I started a new Bible study this last week "Anointed Transformed Redeemed, A Study of David", and this song spoke to me when I heard it. I think it goes along with what I've been learning. God is so powerful! We need to hang on every word we read in His Word, the Bible. When we hear the whisper from the Holy Spirit, don't ignore, Respond. When He has told us what we should do, Do It! Don't allow the enemy to slip his silver tongue in and tell you that you aren't worthy...you aren't capable of doing such a thing. Guess what ladies...with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, anything is possible...because it is God doing the work, not you (2 Corinthians 3:5)! We allow fear to derail us from what we've been called to do.

*From Session 1- lead by -Priscilla Shirer

*The anointing is "a divine empowerment or a divine enablement to accomplish God's purpose for your life"

*If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, the anointing of God rests on your life.

So the same anointing that was given to David, is given to us through Jesus Christ. That is a great gift!

Swag Bucks!

I Just Won 27 Swag Bucks on www.swagbucks.com

Congratulations!
You've won 27 Swag Bucks

If you aren't apart of the Swagbucks world yet, you might want to be. I now have $25 dollars worth of Amazon Gift Cards waiting in my account...this means that by just searching (like you would with google) I earn swagbucks which go towards rewards. A $5 Amazon Gift Card is only 450 swagbucks! Why not earn while you search, right?! Swagbucks is a search engine that randomly rewards you with swagbucks every time you use it. The more you use it the more chances you have to win these Swag bucks. I know a few ladies that use this program to pay for their Christmas gifts every year. What a great way to be a good steward of your money!

Check them out! Click this link: Swag Bucks

I thought it was kind of a joke to waste my time searching with them, but I was wrong. Once I really understood the Swagbucks World, I use it to search for everything! Friday is the Mega Swag Bucks search day. You can win in increments of 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 swagbucks.  If you get really serious about it there are dozens of ways you can earn. I mainly use my toolbar (which you'll want to download after you sign up) to search and answer the poll questions. There is a blog that gives you clues about where swagbucks are hidden...if you want the whole experience. I myself, don't have time for it, so I do the basics!

Happy Searching!

I Will Give You Rest

I Will Give You Rest

   "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

May you find rest in Christ as he instructs us. You'll be blessed because you did...

Baseballs and Coupons

   Ty has the privilege of playing on his K.A. 8yr old tournament team this summer (it is 12 boys chosen out of 12 teams, that have been invited to play). Tonight was his first practice...2.5 hrs long. Wasn't expecting that, so tomorrow I'll be staying home. :)

Ty throwing from second to first base.

An ex-college player helping with technique.

Another drill.

Ty getting ready to field.

Deciding whether or not it's going to third or first.

First it is!

Don't judge...Totino's are the hubby's favorite food. :)
It was extremely refreshing to see coaches who are serious, expect respect, and want the very best from these boys. I figure if we are putting in the time and money, it might as well be to the fullest.

*Another bonus for me was on the trip home from practice, I talked Bob into swinging into Alberstons to do my first ever "Twice Value" coupon trip. I've bought the papers with the inserts before, just never got to the store before they expired on that Tuesday. I think it was pretty successful myself!

Transaction #1: FREE
3 Ken's Steak House Dressings; Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette, Ranch, & Creamy Caesar
Saving= $11.97  Reg. $3.99 a piece

Transaction #2: $7.81
3 Totino's Party Pizzas $1.99 each, 7 Totino's Pizza Rolls $2.99 each, Gatorade (not pictured) $1.89

Transaction #3: $5.38
1 Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade $2.99, 1 Buddig Turkey Breast package $5.59, 1 Johnsonville Chicken Sausage package $5.29

Reality Check...

  Tonight Bob and I came to the realization that no matter how "city" we live, we are "country" people.

  We aren't Country Club, BMW driving, designer wearing, latest fade buying, 2 children family, M.B.A. titled, private school, night out on the town, people. In reality we have always known this, but tonight we got a serious dose of how much we aren't. We are muck boots, chickens, tree climbing kids, homeschooling, lots of little ones, consignment clothes, cloth diapering, 9yr old Suburban driving, family game night, people.

  As much as I would have disagreed with that statement a year ago, I now know this is us. Am I upset about it? No. I just didn't realize how frugal and simple we live. I love the fact that I can have a perfectly manicured lawn and flowers galore. That everything in our little lot can be well maintained and "perfect" looking. But the reality of it is, I think watching your children run through fields, climb trees, and work hard on a piece of land is so much more rewarding. It really saddens me as to how much stock we put towards things in life that mean nothing. Absolutely nothing. What happened to raising your children to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind? To making boys into men, instead of the next multi-million dollar sports figure? To making girls into women who desire to care for their homes and children, instead of earning degrees and hiring nannies? To raising families who serve others, instead of what's in it for them?

  I pray that by the grace of God, we can instill these values in our children as they grow and become young men and young ladies. In the world we live in today, this is a big challenge. May we always enter through the narrow gate and not the wide. And keep our eyes on Christ and not become entangled with the desires of the "Good Life".

Luke 10:27
He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

Hebrews 12:2
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Matthew 7:13
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Psalm 119:33-40
33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes;
and I will keep it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, that I may keep your law
and observe it with my whole heart.
35 Lead me in the path of your commandments,
for I delight in it.
36 Incline my heart to your testimonies,
and not to selfish gain!
37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things;
and give me life in your ways.
38 Confirm to your servant your promise,
that you may be feared.
39 Turn away the reproach that I dread,
for your rules are good.
40 Behold, I long for your precepts;
in your righteousness give me life!
